About 40,000 participants and 8,600 tractors from all over Germany traveled to the center of Berlin on the so-called farmers' rally on 26 November 2019.
With the motto, "Farmer creates connection. We call to the table", the aim of the rally to draw attention to the situation of farmers in Germany.
During the rally in front of the Brandenburg Gate, the protests were, among other things, directed against the agricultural policy of the Federal Government, which provides for stricter guidelines on environmental protection and the use of fertilizers.
The farmers saw the protests as an offer of a dialogue with consumers and politicians, in which they want to point out their essential role in the nutrition of the population.
We accepted the offer of talks to understand better what the concerns of farmers are, how they see the future of rural and urban areas and what must happen now.
