Sci-Cress Novel Food
The food system is changing fundamentally along the value chain thanks to digital and biotechnological techniques. We have seen ground-breaking innovations in food production and agriculture over the decades. They minimise land consumption, reduce the proportion of livestock farming, end overfishing of waters and bring agriculture to where most consumers are – to the cities. These ideas are mature and are being trialled worldwide. The scalability of production to reduce costs is the task for the next ten years to contribute to SDG 2030.
